Against this difficult background, tourism and travel companies, destinations and service providers, have
risen to the challenge. Tourists may have changed their selections of destinations, preferring places closer to home, but they are still taking their breaks. The Focus shows the importance that government places on tourists as consumers of culture and vital recipients of today’s service sector. The sector has demonstrated its stability by accommodating tourists’ changing needs. While environment presents itself as one concern, another is for better value-for-money and improved service.
