48th International Paris Air Show - Le Bourget
Certain years have a lasting influence. Following the 100th anniversary of the French Aerospace Industries Association (Gifas) in October 2008, the International Paris Air Show celebrates its centenary in June 2009.

In 1908, several brilliant aircraft manufacturers and inventors, such as Blériot, Breguet and Voisin, established France’s first aerospace industries’ trade association, the Chambre Syndicale de l’Industrie Aéronautique. The following year they hosted the first air show at the Grand Palais in Paris.

One hundred years later, following countless technological and commercial successes, a new page has been turned in the history of the industry, that of constant innovation, sustainable development and respect for the environment.

In keeping with its reputation as a global showcase for the aerospace sector, the 48th Paris Air Show will welcome leaders of the industry from across the globe. It will undoubtedly provide a platform for public previews of the latest innovations worldwide.

Despite the current economic context, the Paris Air Show is already fully booked, 4 months before it opens, with the presence of all major aerospace manufacturers and subcontractors.

As the world’s premier aerospace event, the Show offers significant networking opportunities to all industry players, allowing visitors and exhibitors to build effective business relations and foster ambitious industrial cooperation.

Key figures for the 2009 Paris Air Show:
- Over 2,000 exhibitors expected, of which 60% international
- Over 70% SMEs, increasing in number at each edition
- A Business & Technology Forum for prime contractors and suppliers,
launched in 2007, hosting over 6,000 B2B meetings

Trade mission to Paris Air show 2009
“If you will be organising a similar mission in two years' time, please let me know” says Mike Bednall from MPB marketing.
He was one of the attendee of our 8th Trade mission to the Paris Air show. 36 top level managers and CEOs joined us to attend the 100th anniversary of the International Paris Air Show in Le Bourget last week.
Despite the economical climate, 2000 exhibitors and over 150 000 trade visitors were welcomed for this 2009 edition, which make the Paris Air Show the most important event in the aerospace industry.
During three days these companies had various occasions to network with French and international companies. From the British embassy reception to the cocktail hosted by aerospace Valley, the attendees have had plenty of opportunities to source new business contacts.

Rendezvous in 2011 for the 49th edition of the Paris Air Show with a brand new agenda and events for the next Trade mission.
