Steven Saywell is Global Head of Foreign Exchange Strategy and is based in London. He is responsible for driving the strategic view and analysis on G10 currencies. Steven joined BNP Paribas in July 2011.
Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Steven was Chief Currency Strategist at Citigroup, with a particular focus on developed market currencies. He devised currency research themes and generated FX trade ideas in major currencies. He was the principal author of the flagship publication CitiFX Views. During this time, Steven’s team was ranked #1 for currency research many years in various annual investor surveys including the Euromoney poll. Previously, Steven worked as a currency strategist at Fuji Bank (now part of the Mizuho Group) where he was responsible for FX and interest rate forecasting and analysis with a strong focus on Japan. Steven has worked in the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and Australia.
Steven is a regular presenter and guest host on several media stations including BBC, Bloomberg and CNBC. Steven Saywell graduated from the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. He studied Finance/Economics and Japanese.
