Beyond Brexit Forum: The talent Brexit

For the final Beyond Brexit Forum before our summer break, and at the six month point after the UK left the European Union, we explored the impact of Brexit on the labour market- a growing area of concern for our members.

Ben Xu of Irwin Mitchell gave a comprehensive overview of current legal issues, including the visa options for business travel and transfer, plus an introduction to the new graduate visas. He recommended that businesses who may need to sponsor visas in future should apply for their sponsor licence now, even if they don’t immediately plan on hiring non-British nationals, noting that the licence application process is currently taking around three months.
