The recruitment department of the French Chamber is acting as a recruitment agency for its over 530-member companies, one of which is currently looking for a Junior Accountant.

Our Client

Our client is Europe’s leading winegrower producing a portfolio of prestigious international Champagne, distributed worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

You will be reporting directly to Finance/ Administration Manager.

  • Code and file sales and purchase invoices
  • Maintain and reconcile Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Keep the overall aged debt balance under tight control
  • Process weekly Bank Reconciliation
  • Prepare weekly payment runs
  • Provide cash flow reporting and forecasting
  • Produce month-end journals including prepayments, accruals report and fixed asset register
  • Assist with VAT Return completion
  • Investigate expenditure variances
  • Assist in evaluating cost pressures
  • Assist in the production of monthly budgetary and control reports
  • Resolve queries as identified by budget holders
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts

Profile

  • At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience within a developed finance function is a plus
  • Educated to a Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting or Management)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Passionate about the Champagne & Wine industry
  • Advanced organisational skills, ability to multi-task, and attention to detail
  • Focused and delivery oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including colleagues, management, external partners, and customers
  • Proven time management skills and the ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment
  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
  • Highly resourceful self-learner, with the ability to operate effectively independently

Location: Central London

Salary: £22,000 – £26,000

Type of contract: Permanent, Full-time

Start date: November 2019
