On 21 October, our Patron and Corporate members attended a roundtable with Chris Stark CBE, Head of the UK’s Mission for Clean Power at the DESNZ.

Patron and Corporate members gathered for an insightful Advocacy Breakfast with Chris Stark CBE, Head of the UK’s Mission for Clean Power at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). Held as part of our Advocacy Breakfast series, the session offered a timely briefing on the UK’s path to Clean Power by 2030 and what this ambitious goal means for the businesses building and financing the energy transition.

The discussion focused on the key delivery challenges facing the Clean Power mission, including grid capacity and connections, planning reform, and the scale of investment required. Members shared insights and perspectives on how close collaboration between government and industry can help accelerate delivery, give investors confidence, and ensure the transition creates lasting economic value across the UK.

Many thanks to our speaker Chris Stark CBE, Head of Clean Power, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, for his candid remarks and for taking members’ questions.

A special thank you to David Pownall, Vice President, Power Systems & Safety, UK & Ireland, Schneider Electric, who moderated the discussion and made this session greatly interactive, and to Schneider Electric for kindly hosting us.
