Our Chamber

The French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain has been supporting the UK-France business community and promoting commercial relationships between the two countries since 1883.

Who we are

The French Chamber was established in 1883 to improve the commercial and industrial relationships between France and the UK. Today we are a network of over 350 French and international multinationals and SMEs with significant investment and operations in the UK. We are part of the network of International French Chambers of Commerce and Industry, spanning 119 Chambers in 94 countries, and more than 33,000 businesses.

Our mission is to

  • Strengthen, develop and promote partnerships between French and British business to support growth and investment on both sides of the Channel

  • Provide business leaders with a platform to network, share best practice and learn from peers

  • Gather members with key decision-makers and influencers on both sides of the Channel

  • Assist French businesses entering the UK market through a range of business services

Our strength

Our members are responsible for significant trade and investment in the UK. France is the UK’s second-largest trading partner in Europe, fifth-largest export market for goods in the world, and a major global source of imported goods and services. Investment by French companies in the UK is significant and mirrored by similar levels of UK investment in France.

We measure the strength of this economic contribution through a regular survey of trade conditions and a UK-France Business Dashboard, and we work closely with the French Embassy in London, the British Embassy in Paris and the Franco-British Chamber in Paris.

140 YEARS OF FOSTERING UK-FRANCE RELATIONS

In 2023, the French Chamber of Great Britain celebrates its 140th anniversary.

This milestone is a remarkable testament to the enduring importance of the Franco-British relationship, and to the French Chamber’s continued relevance and necessity.
