AIR campaigns to ensure that the policy and economic environment allows international retail in the UK to realise its full growth potential and to help retailers throughout the UK enhance their sales to international visitors. AIR’s focus is on communicating the importance to sector, identifying and promoting policy changes that will help drive growth and providing market and international competitor research.

AIR’s primary focus is on specific policy changes that will encourage greater international visitor numbers and retail spending, particularly as we recover from the impact of COVID-19. AIR's priority campaigns are:

- Restoring tax-free shopping, or creating a Government-Industry partnership to develop a world-leading alternative.

- Lowering the barrier caused for visitors from some key markets by the need for a UK visitor visa.

- Excluding Britain’s International Centres, West End and Knightsbridge, from Sunday trading restrictions.
