New visa procedures for travelling and working between the EU and the UK

The changes resulting from Brexit continue to cause some challenges and concerns, and the Chamber has been committed throughout the process to supporting its Members in all aspects of Franco-British business.

For this webinar, we were delighted to be joined by experts from Newland Chase, a CIBT company, which works on issues around immigration and visas, who gave a comprehensive summary on how businesses should adapt to the new immigration landscape.

The end of free movement has marked a change in how business is conducted across the EU. Whilst EU nationals will not require a visa for business trips, there are new factors to consider around justification for travel letters and passport validity rules, and the team gave a clear and comprehensive guide to ensuring that business trips are compliant with the new regulations.

It was particularly useful for French companies operating in the UK to learn about the routes to bringing workers with EU nationalities into the UK, and the differences between permanent hires and temporary assignments, as well as some regulations around internships and similar schemes. Untanging and understanding these new rules is vital for businesses to avoid legal and reputational issues
