Nilmini Roelens was admitted as a Solicitor in 1991. She graduated from Leicester University in 1987 with her first degree in LLB Law with French and a Masters’ Degree in European Law from Kings College, London in 1992. She obtained a Diplôme d'Etudes Juridiques Franҫaises from Strasbourg University (France).

She has thirty years of specialist experience in the field of UK Immigration law. Her focus is on Business Immigration law assisting companies of all sizes from start-ups, listed companies, to multi-nationals as well as educational, charitable and religious institutions. She also assists highly skilled and skilled individuals secure their immigration status. She has experience across the full breadth of immigration law from asylum and human rights to family migration to entrepreneurs.

She has been a member of Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA) since 1991. See ILPA monthly publication for her recent critique on the latest business immigration routes. She has been a Law Society Accredited Immigration Supervisor, a member of the highly regarded Law Society's Immigration Law Panel and secured UK Border Agency approval for the firm's services in Sponsorship Licensing whilst these schemes operated.

She has conducted many training seminars including for specialist immigration law trainers, writes prolifically on Immigration law practice and policy issues and has represented clients in key cases. She also undertakes training and development and inspired many young lawyers to take up careers in the field of Immigration law.

Nilmini is a dual French/British national who is Sri Lankan born. She thus understands the migration journey first hand and the complexities of a constantly evolving immigration law landscape.

Whilst most of her clients are London based, she currently lives and works in Oxford.
