Thierry GarnierCEO of Kingfisher plc

Thierry Garnier became CEO of Kingfisher plc in September 2019. He is also a non-executive director of Tesco plc and a member of its remuneration committee.
He is an experienced, international retailer having spent 20 years in senior roles at Carrefour, the French multi-national retailer. Most recently, Thierry was a member of the Carrefour Group Executive Committee and Chief Executive Officer of Carrefour Asia.
From 2003 to 2008, he was Managing Director of Supermarkets for Carrefour France. Following this he became Carrefour's International Operations Director, with a remit including Asia, Latin America and various European countries.
Thierry has Master’s Degrees in Engineering from École Polytechnique, Paris, and from École des Mines de Paris and begin his career with the French Civil Service before pursuing his passion for retail.
A French national, also fluent in Mandarin, Thierry now lives in London. He has been awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre national de la Légion d’Honneur (France) and recently received the Magnolia Gold Award, one of the highest recognitions given to foreigners in China.
